This wasn’t what I expected at all. Everyone had hyped up this book SO much. Don’t you hate when people do that? They make it seem like a book is equivalent to the Second Coming and you’re so excited that you already put the book on a pedestal before you even read it. In the end, you are so disappointed because it didn’t reach that standard you had placed for it.
That was “Miss Peregrine’s” for me. I wanted MIND EXPLOSION. Instead, i got a little piece of paper with ka-plow written on it.

Talk about a book that leaves you speechless in the end. HOLY SHIT!
When I first started watching Booktube, it seemed like EVERYONE was reading or had read this book. It got good reviews after good reviews after great reviews, I had no choice but to grab it when I saw it in the book section in Target. “Top 13 of 2013” book videos had “The Darkest Minds” as their number #1 constantly!
Do you see where I’m getting at?
And to be honest, I didn’t want to like this book. I really didn’t! Everyone was reading it….it was such a bandwagon read.
